​After watching Doctor Strange at the theater I noticed that the fire portal effect seen in the film looked a lot like my "Warp Speed with Steel Wool" episode.

So I thought I'd take a similar approach on a smaller scale and use sparklers instead of steel wool.

The biggest thing you have to consider is how to capture the entire fire ring for each frame.  Luckily my camera can shoot at different frame rates. But if you have a HDSLR, you can set your shutter to about 1/8 and use the quick burst setting.
